Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment

Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment – or EPSDT – is a program administered by the Department of Medicaid Services. EPSDT provides regular health screening services and medically necessary special services to children and young adults who qualify through Medicaid or KCHIP enrollment. Transportation may be provided to these appointments and services. As a result of the completion of this module, you will understand EPSDT transportation options.

First Steps

First Steps

First Steps is Kentucky’s state-wide early intervention system administered by the Department for Public Health in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. First Steps provides services to children with developmental disabilities from birth to age three. Services may be provided at home, in center-based programs, or in clinical settings. As a result of the completion of this module, you will gain an overview of First Steps and learn how to access transportation supports within the program.

Community Integration Supplement

The Department for Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Community Integration Supplement, or CIS, provides money to help those with a serious mental illness to live in the community. These funds can be used to pay for transportation needs. As a result of the completion of this module, you will understand eligibility criterion and application process for the Community Integration Supplement.
